Sachin’s double century – Real time internet

I’ve always wanted to know how far behind the actual happenings in the world the net is… in simple terms… is the internet in sync with the world – is it in Real time????

Well today I got home to find that Sachin Tendulkar had 194 runs in his pocket (the highest in an ODI) and was just 6 away from a double ton… Not a big cricket fan but this is something u just had to watch (at least to say i had witnessed this event)… As Sachin neared the double ton mark, I realized this would be the perfect time to catch the web at its best.

Sachin Tendulkar

The Little Master after breaking another record!!!

I sat down in front of the computer and had open the following sites for monitoring – twitter,Google and Facebook.

As the Little Master reached his new landmark… twitter was the first to pick up on this, with tweets just flooding in… Google wasn’t far behind considering they monitor twitter – With the searches I had running in 5 minutes Google had news regarding this new record…

Facebook is another story… its more about your friends than the entire world…. so the info varies depending on the number of friends and their interests.. But that was also pretty quick and I got my first status in a few minutes…

Getting back to the little Master – 200 off 147 balls, a spectacular innings with 25 fours and 3 sixes… Congrats to Sachin on a wonderful innings… This is pretty big to a Sachin fan or cricket fanatic but for a person like me, this gave me an amazing opportunity to conduct an experiment and for that lovely opportunity I thank Sachin

End of the day I realized that the internet is almost in pace with our world.. its just a matter of time before which the net will be in par with the so called real world!
